 The Speedy was designed in 1930 as a smaller interpretation of the hugely popular Keepall bag. The bag marks a turning point in the history of Louis Vuitton, as the Speedy was in fact the very first handag from the fashion house. While the Keepall was intended for the globetrotting elite, the Speedy was designed for everyday use

 Nicolas Ghesquière designed his  bag for the house in 2000, a first version of the Balenciaga Motorcycle City, but it was dismissed by the company as it lacked structure and was too soft. Thw bag was the opposite of all the popular bags of that time. Little did they know that those were the qualities that would make the bag so popular.

It was Karl Lagerfeld who paid a tribute to the men in Coco Chanel's life, with the birth of the Chanel Boy bag. In 2011 he spoke about Coco's love for menswear: "Chanel used men’s underwear to make dresses; she had this boyish attitude, in fact it is the very spirit of Chanel. The success of Céline started with the never-ending hype of the Céline Luggage bag. But the Luggage bag has been thrown of its pedestal by an even more loved bag: the Trapeze. The bag has extra wide rectangular side-wings, which gives it an iconic shape.

8. Lady Dior

The Lady Dior is a true classic and was given its iconic status by Princess Diana. The French fashion house of Dior wanted to create a bag that was instantly recognizable and had a strong identity. The Lady Dior design was inspired by couture and was first manufactured in 1994.

Though it was only introduced in 2007, the Louis Vuitton Neverfull has become one of the brand's all time best-selling, most-coveted bags. Fans credit the Neverfull for its wearability, craftsmanship, sturdyness and beauty.
